With 22 days to go before the Aug. 8 start of the Beijing Olympics, the final preparations are being carried out. Here, a group of performers pose before the rehearsal of the opening ceremony, which was held at Beijing’s National Stadium on Wednesday.

I predict that this will be fun to watch during the opening ceremony AND it will then become the next big fashion statement (or not, but i’d totally rock the hat with the glowing lights!)

This is my lil kitten matilda…. I took this picture on my phone and touched some buttons and it came out like this. My new phone is so damn cool (and I never thought I’d be a person who would utter those words, but it is seriously cool)…

Anyway, matilda is the cutest, mushiest, loveyst cat you’ll ever meet… you can pick her up and just squish her and she loves to butt heads and rub on people and when she gets really happy she purrs and wheezes a bit at the same time (kitty asthma) and she’s generally really happy. I love my cat and she knows it!

But Siiigh… i’ve been struggling with this… got no job, it’s summer time, want to have fun and relax and just do what i want to do…. then again i have no income (to pay my crappy bills!).. and i’m scared i’ll never get a job (although i haven’t really started applying yet, but still- heh. i guess that’s why it doesn’t feel temporary =P). in any case i am embracing the leisure because i appreciate the fact that i won’t get the chance to enjoy this again for a long time to come

Welcome to the world Brook Lynn! She was born Friday, July 11th, and I took this picture Sunday, July 13th (I got to hold this sweet, adorable 2 day old for about an hour on Sunday and she was So good - she didn’t cry once!). She’s such a cute little baby, especially considering she’s only 2 days old in this picture and she doesn’t look like an ailen or squished or what-have-you, like so many newborns do… Congrats to her fantastic, proud, loving parents (who are also patient and very welcoming seeing as they had a BBQ the same day Mommy got home from the hospital - um, wow =] ). I could not be happier for you!

*Note: Her onesie says “look out long island brooklynn is in the house!”

finished product, so delicious!!! I may or may not have burned my tongue because they weren’t cooled enough.

Recipe:

4 cans refrigerator biscuits

2 sticks butter, melted

1/4 to 1/3 c. cinnamon (I used the max)

1 to 1 1/4 c. sugar (I used the max)

Mix sugar and cinnamon. Set aside. Cut each biscuit into 4 pieces. Roll each in melted butter and then cinnamon mixture. Drop pieces loosely into tube pan. Pour any remaining butter and cinnamon mixture over biscuits. Bake at 350 degrees about 40 minutes. Cool 10 minutes in pan, turn out. Pull apart to eat.

Yeah, had to reblog this too because the finished product looks great plus bufo included the recipe so now I don’t have to type it out (there was a request so I was going to, but this a) gives props to the baker =) and b) appeals to my lazy side!)

I also wanted to note that yes, I do have a sense of humor that is comparable to that of most middle schoolers…. and it’s fabulous hahaha!

We used to make this when I was a little kid - so simple and sooooo good. Looking at this picture is bringing good memories and it’s making my mouth water… the only difference between this and my version is my mom called it monkey bread - monkey balls sounds much naughtier right now (teeheehee) bon appetite!!
