Okay, I’ve been gone from tumblr since forever…

so it’s time to update the internet

Life has been frikking great!

WORK: I taught 4 classes (7.5 credits) last semester and I’m teaching 2 (6 credits) this semester. Last semester I got a new class (freshman seminar) and this semester I’m teaching a new class (interpersonal communication) to go along with my staple intro to comm class. It feels nice to get these mini-promotions/have more responsibility.

I’m also part time at Becca PR - one of the best restaurant pr places ever :) Some of their clients are Eric Ripert (Le Bernardin), Tom Colicchio (Craft, Colicchio & Sons), Scott Conant (Scarpetta, Faustina), David Burke Townhouse, Aldea, Le Cirque, En Japanese Brasserie, Joseph Leonard………. So many great restaurants and amazing chefs! I love going to work!

LOVE: As of 2 weeks ago James and I are living together in a HUGE apartment in Brooklyn. We were going to sign a lease for an apt on January 15th, for a decent 850 sq ft garden apt., but the landlord completely played us. We thought we were going to have to wait yet another month to move in together… totally exhausted and at the end of our ropes, we saw 35 apts in the span of 2 days, we were going to give up for a little while. But we went to One Last Place with a broker and the landlord totally showed all of his cards. He told the broker (in front of us) that he would take $400 less per month because he just wanted someone in the apt. That fell right into our price range, we saw it, and got 1100+ sq feet for a steal. Oh, our landlord is 93 years old, hilarious, and incredibly vital. We moved in on a Saturday and he was there, smoking cigarettes in our apt (yuck, but that was the only day he did that), and sanding our doorways and window sills. Why he was doing that the day of the move instead of during the week and a half he had before we moved in, I don’t know, but it was kinda’ sweet. So we have a big ol’ bedroom, a walk in closet with a big window, a ton of closets, TWO marble fire places (nonworking), a big kitchen, an office, a formal dining room, a den/tv room, and a very pink bathroom. We’re 1/2 a block away from the subway, 1/2 block from all of the shops and restaurants in center slope, 1 1/2 blocks away from the park, and 6 short blocks away from my sister & her bf :)

And we have each other. It is such an indescribably, heart-flutteringly, good feeling, knowing that when I go to bed he’s right there next to me, and when I wake up he’s there and I don’t have to drive an hour for a hug from him. We’re PIC’s and that’s the way that it should be.

More updates and photos to follow. I’m going out to Enjoy My Snow Day! (Yay, classes canceled second week of teaching - oye).
